We live in a remote area of southeast Wyoming where the neighbors are few and far between, the wind blows hard a lot of the time, and tumbleweeds & tornadoes are a seasonal fact of life. Celtic Prairie Farm is the cornerstone of our lives. We love Celtic music, artwork, beer
We’ve been married 26 yrs and have two amazing daughters. On our little homestead, we raise Irish Dexter cattle, Icelandic sheep & chickens, a few guineas, several dogs, and a whole bunch of cats. Our family works together to learn modern and traditional homesteading techniques to become more self-sufficient, healthy, and frugal using the ‘old-ways’ combined with new innovations!
Gardening is always a challenge since we have frost into June, lots of wind and an altitude over 5000 ft.. I’m learning to preserve more food by canning and drying. So we’re buying less less from the store and eating more from the pantry.
Along the way, we’re learning to live a more healthy lifestyle by eating better, cooking real, traditional foods, implement natural healthcare solutions including using essential oils, and natural cleaners. I enjoy finding treasures at garage sales and thrift stores so we’ll also be exploring how to reuse and re-purpose items instead of buying new.
Thanks for joining us!
